Serious About God::: Devotional

Day 4: Prayer

The simplest definition of prayer is… talking to God. Up to this point, you have asked Jesus to forgive you, to come into your heart, to change you and to be your best friend. Would you talk to your ‘best friend’ as if he or she were some far off ‘thing’? No, you wouldn’t. You don’t have to talk to God that way, either. In fact, Jesus rebuked those who used lofty, religious speech to pray. You can wake up in the morning and say, “Good morning, Jesus! What have You got planned for me today, Lord?”

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
