Hebrews 12: 1-3 God Disciplines His Children
Week 1 of the Unglued OBS had chosen a line out of this particular section from the bible, 12:1b ‘let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run the race marked out for us.’
Right now, I will focus on one thing ‘in your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”
so, ‘If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?’ He brews 12:4-7
I like to believe and thank God for treating me as his son [daughter]. I wouldn’t have made it of God didn’t give me a good talking to. I mean think about it:
(!Just for fun!)
If God [Our Father] did discipline us would we be half as mannerable, joyful, responaible, caring, glued, etc… as we are after reading this?
I feel a ot better knowing I am a child of the Lord MY GOD, because ‘if you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons [daughters].’ So, lets give God the almighty thanks for including us into his plans of life and not casting us off to death. Thank you God! He said if we keep our focus on him everything will be taken cared of. So let us cast our cares and worries, those strongholds and those annoyances to God and look to him with out heads held high and our arms stretched out to receive, not just punishments, but rewards on our stead fast journey.
God’s too caring and too loving to let us fall short of his amazing glory. He wants all of us to be there in heavan with him celebrating the return of his children. So, thank YOU God for so much more. If Jesus didn’t come I can’t tell you if it would be the same today. Trust me I really can’t.
For setting me on the straight and narrow path to run this race, thank you.
Ever so-happy child,
